Starting November 23rd, downtown parkers can turn their parking tickets into an opportunity to help those in need during the Forget the Fine Supply Drive citation forgiveness event. This holiday season, Park Cedar Rapids will be accepting donations for area homeless shelters and family service centers and forgiving citaitons in return. Donations will be accepted until December 23rd.

Instead of paying your ticket, help your community by donating any of the following items or group of items, and we will dismiss your citations, up to $100 per donation: 


  • Baby Wipes & Diapers (all sizes)
  • 4pk Toilet Paper & 2pk Paper Towels
  • Hat & Gloves
  • Small Blanket
  • Baby Clothes
  • Deodorant, Shampoo, & Conditioner
  • Body Wash/Bar Soap, Dish Soap, & Disinfecting Wipes


  • Pinesol Cleaner & Laundry Soap 
  • 6 pk Toilet Paper & Female Care Products 
  • 6 pk Paper Towels
  • Baby Formula
  • Bed Sheet Set
  • Mattress Protector
  • Garbage Bags & Ziplock Bags
  • First Aid Kit


  • Walmart, Hyvee, or Target Gift Card equal to $20 or more
  • Diaper Bag 
  • Winter Coat 
  • Snow Boots 
  • Pillows (2)
  • Large Blanket
  • Bath Towels (2) 


  • Walmart, Hyvee, or Target Gift Card equal to $90 or more 
  • Bedding Sets (all sizes) 
  • Stroller
  • Kitchen Set (pots & pans)
  • 31 Day Bus Passes (2) 

In order to have a citation dismissed, participants must bring in new items that are similar in price to the issued citation. 

For example, if a parking prohibited ticket is worth $25, participants should donate an item of equal value, like a pair of children’s snow boots.

All donations will benefit Horizons, the Willis Dady Shelter, and Waypoint. 

Participants can bring their donations to the Park Cedar Rapids office located in the 4th Avenue parking ramp at:

About Willis Dady Homeless Shelter 

Willis Dady Emergency Shelter (WDES) provides services to prevent homelessness & rehouse those who are currently homeless. WDES serves single men and families by providing shelter, case management, basic necessities, & more.

Horizons, A Family Service Alliance is dedicated to providing opportunities for human development to improve the quality of individual & family lives. They provide a variety of services across East-Central Iowa including nutrition & wellness programs, a financial wellness center, mental health & wellness services, and much more.
