Independence Day weekend parking details

Downtown Cedar Rapids will be bustling with activity this Independence Day weekend. Here’s what you need to know for parking.

On Saturday, on-street parking will be prohibited within the Downtown Cedar Rapids Farmers Market footprint bounded by 2nd and 4th avenues and 3rd and 5th streets. Vehicles left overnight in placarded areas will be ticketed and towed beginning at 4 a.m. The 3rd Avenue Ramp will also be closed Saturday from 5 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Farmers Market parking will be available for $2 beginning at 7 a.m. at the 4th Avenue and Ground Transportation Center ramps. The Five Seasons and Convention Center parkades are also available for the regular rate of 75 cents per hour (first hour free).

For the 5th Season Races on Monday, on-street parking is prohibited beginning at 4 a.m. adjacent to Greene Square Park on 3rd and 4th avenues and 5th Street. Free off-street parking is available Monday morning at the 3rd and 4th Avenue and GTC ramps.

For the Freedom Festival Celebration of Freedom, parking will be available for $3 beginning at 7 p.m. Monday at the following facilities:

  • Convention Center Parkade
  • 4th Avenue Ramp (cash only)
  • GTC Ramp (cash only)
  • Five Seasons Parkade
  • Lot 9
  • Lot 3
  • Paramount Lot (cash only)

*Parking passes will be valid until 2 am. 

Firework Viewing Areas! The rooftops to all facilities will be closed off to parking and available for viewing of the fireworks. No glass bottles or grills allowed.
