Downtown Cedar Rapids will be bustling with activity this extended Independence Day weekend. Here’s what you need to know about parking.

On Saturday, on-street parking will be prohibited within the Downtown Cedar Rapids Farmers Market footprint bounded by 2^nd and 4^th avenues and 2^nd and 5^th streets. Vehicles left overnight in placarded areas will be ticketed and towed beginning at 4 a.m.

Farmers Market parking will be sold for $5 at the 4th Avenue Parkade (via 5th Avenue), the GTC Parkade (via 5th Avenue), and the Convention Center Parkade (via 1^st Avenue). Please note the 3rd Ave Parkade will be closed.

For the 5^th Season Races on Tuesday, on-street parking is prohibited beginning at 4 a.m. adjacent to Greene Square Park on 3^rd and 4^th avenues and 5^th Street. Free off-street parking is available Tuesday morning at the 3^rd and 4^th Avenue and GTC ramps.

For the Freedom Festival Celebration of Freedom, parking will be available for $5 beginning at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the following facilities:

• Convention Center Parkade
• 4^th Avenue Ramp
• GTC Ramp
• Five Seasons Parkade
• Lot 9
• Lot 3

*Parking passes will be valid until 2 am.

Parking is prohibited on the 1^st, 2^nd and 3^rd Avenue bridges until the conclusion of the fireworks display. 

Firework Viewing Areas! The rooftops to all facilities will be closed off to parking and available for viewing of the fireworks. No glass bottles, fireworks or grills allowed.
